Interactive touch table tool combined with GIS for participatory planning

Touch table technologies seem to be taking off internationally as a useful tool to assist in participatory planning. Arciniegas, Janssen & Omtzgit  have just published a paper in IJGIS titled “Map-based multicriteria analysis to support interactive land use allocation”.  This paper provides a nice example of this technology combined with a GIS using a multicriteria analysis (MCA) approach to provide negotiation support for land use allocation in the Netherlands. The paper can be found online at: http://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/13658816.2011.556118.
