Visualising the rebuild of Christchurch

Currently at the CRC-SI conference and Julian Carver, Land Information New Zealand has just presented a really good use of visualisation for communicating the vision for the rebuilding the City of Christchurch. Christchurch was devastated by earthquakes in Sept 2010 and Feb 2011, the later killing 185 people with an overall estimation of $40 billion dollars of damage.

Geographical Visualization and Virtual Reality for Urban Planning

The 13th International Conference on Computers in Urban Planning Urban Management (CUPUM) will be held in Utrecht, The Netherlands July 2-5, 2013. Our working group will be running a session on Geographical Visualization and Virtual Reality in the context of urban planning and management . We would encourage you  to submit a conference paper or poster and join us in Utrecht.  Conference papers are due 15th of Feb and poster abstracts 15th of March.
