Call for participation in workshop — Geodesign: Visualizing Cities – Envisioning Sustainable Urban Futures
The workshop will take place as part of the Joint International Conference on Geospatial Theory, Processing, Modelling and Applications. Sunday, 5 October 2014, 9:00am – 17:00pm
Description:
This workshop offers an overview of the current state-of-the-art on multi-dimensional data visualization for urban management and planning. The existing 2D and 3D approaches are critically reviewed from function, as well as design perspectives, with human factors in mind. The first half of the workshop consists of two lectures that will provide participants with an introduction to geodesign and how it is used when visualizing virtual cities. The second half of the workshop will be a practical hand-on session where the participant can use the techniques they learned about and work with real world data.
Who Should Attend?
The session is open to all people with an interest in visualization, geodesign, and sustainable urban development.
