Interactive touch table tool combined with GIS for participatory planning

Touch table technologies seem to be taking off internationally as a useful tool to assist in participatory planning. Arciniegas, Janssen & Omtzgit  have just published a paper in IJGIS titled “Map-based multicriteria analysis to support interactive land use allocation”.  This paper provides a nice example of this technology combined with a GIS using a multicriteria analysis (MCA) approach to provide negotiation support for land use allocation in the Netherlands. VRO 3D object library – additional 75 objects available for download

The Victorian Resources Online (VRO) 3D Object Library now comprises more than 440 digital representations of vegetation, animals, built structures and rural landscapes created by the Department of Primary Industries (DPI) Victoria, Australia. The objects are available in four commonly used file formats  including: .OBJ,.DAE ,3DS and .SKP. So feel free to download and use to create your own landscape and farmscape visualisation products.
